Maybe I went to high school with a bunch of basics but Carly's faux engagement pictures reminded me girls who had senior pictures taken with their HS boyfriends. Some even went as far as to use them in their ads in the back of the yearbook! I had the same thought then as I do with Carly's photoshoot, isn't it going to be super awkward if/when you break up? Break ups are hard enough as it is, I wouldn't want to throw in awkward/sad memories in a personal or in this case professional public space. It's bad enough to have couple photos at home I wouldn't want them in a place where others could see so.

This is exactly what bugs me about their OMGrelationship. She has been parading her relationship around to thousands of followers since they started dating – that just does not seem like a wise move to me. It's difficult to take her seriously as a professional (among other reasons, lol) when most of her blog is a tribute to OMGarrett.

I can't imagine how much grief she's going to get once they break up. I'm sure she'll receive supportive comments from some of her fangirls, but boy will she get a lot of side-eye from the internets, and not just on GOMI.

Or we'll just see OMGarrett getting attacked from every angle by her fangurls. It's really proving itself to be a lose-lose situation. I don't like the girl, but I feel like a breakup would send her over the edge and I don't know if I want to bear witness to that. I guess I hope they stay together so she doesn't break down completely?

The concluding sentence about the "shiny colorful candy store" reminded me of "and i smiled all the way home".

Which was the concluding sentence of the post about that time when she watched someone get hit by a cab which made her reflect on all the wonderful things in her life. I wonder if she actually has any concern for the owner of the bodega. From the sound of it, she was just miffed that she had to find a new place to purchase snacks… Until the shiny colorful candy store made all her dreams come true.

She tries to be so deep and inspirational with these shallow metaphors that only leave me with more questions about the quality of her character.

The Maxie posts are getting old. If you want to get lazy with your Monday posts, here's an idea: have readers/other bloggers submit potential posts each week. You can choose one you think is blog-worthy, trying not to make it the same person each week. You might even be able to squeeze in some posts from actual college students and get back some of the crafts and tips that used to make her your interesting. If I were entering, I could submit something like: I made stew this weekend. I had a ton of leftover carrots. Found a recipe and tried pickling them today. Success or not (I'll find out in 3 day), it was fun. True story, but with some pics everyday stuff like that could make for a fun post. If I were a fangirl I could post a leftover-friendly recipe like that, a craft, or whatever and take pics with my friends who are fans and want to get on the blog.

I can't tell if today's post is foreshadowing a change for her or just some canned wisdom for tween readers. I'm guessing the latter.The candy store thing- groan. These "changes" are happening all over NYC and it's not an exciting thing to really anyone (except a select few .) Rents are insane now. New biz is now super polished and corporate, big money, or a vanity project/trust fund situation.

I'm sure it makes sense with her Atlas Shrugged view of the world. If the bodega owner hadn't been so poor and stupid, they would have found a way to afford the ever-rising,astronomical upper East side rent. Oh well. Carly gets a Dylan's Candy Bar that's closer to her so it all worked out in the end. #bootstraps

I recently left NY after 22 years partly due to rapidly rising rents but mainly due to the place becoming flooded with special snowflakes like Carly who use the city not to create or add anything meaningful, but as aproving ground to make up for all the hugs their parents never gave them. Fabulous aprtment? Check! Fabulous job in media? Check! Fabulous relationship? Check! Brunches, lunches, interviews by the pool? Check! Check! Check! There! I must be happy now, right?! Take that perceived haters and doubters that exist purely as a result of my over-parenting!!

Really, Carly? The one shoe you should buy for the rest of the year is a navy suede loafer?

Those are totally perfect for that awesomely wet fall/winter weather… I can't. I really can't with this girl.

I stopped by around 6:30( I don't live in the city but happen to be up for work) and there was only 3 or 4 people there. Carly looked pretty, though I think she needs to embrace a brighter lip shade. Makes me wonder why she is so heavy handed with the blur tool, since she appears to have good skin and she's young.

No Garrett present, Teddy seemed to have a handler of some sort and was not particularly well behaved. She had him on a leash but he clearly wanted off. There was no signage or anything to indicate Carly's appearance, she was in the very back of the store.

Henri Bendel is full of over priced crap-candles and costume jewelry. The last time I was in the store they had makeup and bath products but no longer. No idea why someone would go there and buy $38 and $48 + hair elastics and clips.

Overheard on Twitter… Carly is going to Caneel Bay resort on St John. Just like KJP and his friends did earlier this year. I wonder if she will frolic in the waves with OMGarrett and try to recreate all of Sarah and KJPs most liked instagrams. Un freaking believable.

I really really REALLY hope this is a family trip. Caneel Bay is a wonderful honeymoon or family destination…not a place for Carlz to pretend to be engaged to OMGarrett.

Can't wait to hear the panic attacks re: sunburns, coral reefs, boats, snorkeling, hiking to beaches, riding in 4-wheel drive jeeps on steep island roads, iguanas, stray cats, sea life, fun.
