I had been using the CA Lottery mobile app on my iPhone 8+ to scan tickets and

scratchers for results and second chance submissions for a while without any

problems. It was a great little app. However, I just replaced our

old phones with two iPhone 15 Pro Max. The app does not scan the barcodes as

well on the new phones. The image is there, but it is a bit out of focus

and unable to complete the scan on scratchers or draw tickets. I can see

the barcodes perfectly clear using the cameras without using the CA Lottery

app. The image is only fuzzy when viewing through the CA Lottery app. I contacting the CA Lottery app technical support. One of them told me they were working on a fix. I followed-up later and was told I needed to search for a solution on Google. I read plenty of reviews that indicated that iPhone 14 Pro Max owners experienced the same thing last year and still do. I thought I'd check on this forum to see if anyone knew of a solution.

Yes, I just noticed the same issue. I just replaced my old Xs with the 15. I always scan my CaLottery tickets to check for winners and to enter their 2nd Chance drawing. It is almost impossible to scan them with the new phone. Who can fix this please?????

  • iPhone 14 Pro Camera scan 3rd party app issuesI just got the iPhone 14 pro and have heard about the issues with the shaky camera. I'm seeing 2 other weird issues. When I go to Citibank app and try to deposit a check, the scanning function on the app turns to landscape mode, but the camera does not. So the check never lines up properly with the app. Also when I tried to scan a QR code for a Citi bike it never zoomed in properly to scan. There are definitely some weird things happening with the 14 pro camera and apps. Anyone else seeing weird stuff like this? 6301
  • Iphone 13 Barcode ScannerI recently upgraded to an iphone 13 from an iphone 7. I work a part time retail job for which the corporation supports an app for managing inventory, etc. The app supports the ability for scanning a barcode which in turn displays relevant information about the supply. I had no problem whatsoever scanning those barcodes with my iPhone 7. However, my iphone 13 will not scan those same barcodes. I hover the scanner over the barcodes and receive no response. Has anyone else experienced similar? 11841
  • Barcode scanners don’t read my iPhone screen Hi. Whenever I try to use a scanner to read a bar code or QR code on my iPhone 13 screen, the scanner can’t read it. I’ve noticed when trying to redeem supermarket vouchers on my screen, or when trying to pick up parcels from an Amazon pick up point. My phone does have a screen protector. It’s the same brand I used on my iPhone 11, which worked just fine with scanners. i turn the brightness up, and have the screen flat close to, or against, the scanner, and I have tried adjusting the position, but still no joy. 10464

I have the same problem. But I found a solution by changing the camera from 24 MP to 12 MP helped. Also, while the Calloto app is open on scan ticket if you press you finger on the screen at the scan code it marks it with a circle than it will scan code. I did have to have the phone about a foot from the ticket.

The folks at the California Lottery are blaming Apple. They are saying that it is the phone maker's responsibility to work right with the app. I have received multiple emails from their "customer support" stating this. I couldn't believe it. They should make their motto: "Customer Service: We're not Happy until you're not Happy!"

Same problem. Looks like it is on the lottery app. Contact them. Until then I have to go to a gas station that has a scanner.

For one thing, the more people that reach out to the CA Lottery app customer service to complain, the better our chances of them fixing the problem which is obviously with their app. The fact that we are even having this conversation more than a year after it started doesn't provide me with a level of confidence that they are either capable or willing to resolve it. I am hoping someone who is smarter than me (probably most of you) on this forum either has or will figure out a work-around for this. Or maybe even another app that will work with the CA Lottery system. Anyway, everyone who has one of the newer phones should contact them. They told me that after they tell people to check the Google videos for a solution, nobody reaches back out to them so it must not be a real problem. I never heard of such nonsense from a customer service/technical support team before. I wish they would've just said, "Yeah we know about it but we don't have a clue how to fix it."

I’m assuming he meant changing the camera to 12mega pixels, which I’m about to research how to go about it.
