How to redeem Membership Rewards points Amex? ›

For web, check out all the rewards available to you on the Membership Rewards page. Once you have made your decision, simply click to redeem. For the Amex App, go to the 'Membership' tab and tap 'Redeem Rewards' and check out all the rewards available to you.

The redemption of Points for Credit will be applied within 3 business days. It cannot be reversed and is not redeemable for cash via a credit balance refund.

Membership Rewards is the loyalty program of American Express. For every eligible dollar spent on an eligible American Express Card, Membership Rewards points are earned and credited to your Card Account. Points can then be redeemed for travel rewards, shopping rewards and entertainment rewards and more.

You can book flights or hotels directly through Amex Travel, but redeeming points with a transfer partner usually results in a better redemption value. This is because Amex Travel only lets you redeem at a set 1 cent per point value for flights, while transfers can yield a much higher value.

You can redeem your Membership Rewards points for a statement credit, which is essentially a cash-back option. Points are generally worth 0.6 cent apiece when used in this way.

Membership Rewards® points have no expiration date. However, points may be forfeited as described in the program Terms and Conditions.

That means 10,000 Membership Rewards points would cover $100 towards a stay at a Fine Hotels & Resorts property or $70 at another hotel booked through Amex Travel.
